"But Mom" Chris whined, "It's Saturday. I've got things I was
gonna do"
"No Buts" Lindsey, Chris's mom said, "That garage needs to be
cleaned out, and since Stacie is over at her friends right now, that job falls to
you" After several more minutes of pleading, Chris gave up, realizing the
futility of his arguments. Reluctantly, he went out to the garage, kissing his
weekend goodbye.
Turning the lights on in the garage, Chris looked around, seeing his
Dad's work area, still cluttered with odds and ends from the last time his Dad
had worked there. His Dad had died 3 months earlier, killed by a drunk
driver who swerved off the road, into the sidewalk where his Dad had been
walking.
Chris had been hit hard by his Dad's death, but was beginning to get
on with his life. Being asked to clean up the garage made him realize that his
Mom was moving on as well, and as hard as it was for him to face these
memento's of his Dad's, Chris knew that they'd have to face them
eventually.
He was only 13 years old, and already he'd lost his father. His 15
year old sister, Stacy had handled their fathers loss a little easier than Chris,
but she spent more time with her friends now, as if she were afraid to come
home and see the empty seat at the dinner table. Sometimes, Chris envied
Stacy all her friends, and that she could get away, while he was stuck at
home with Mom, and doing all the chores.
Sadly, Chris walked over to the dust covered table top, looking at the
half finished projects. Finding a cardboard box, Chris started tossing the
screws and metal pieces into it, trying to get things neatened up. As he
sneezed from the dust, something on the corner of the table caught his eye.
Unlike most of the things on the table, it looked like it was finished.
Not knowing what it was, Chris carefully picked it up looking at it,
seeing that it was a box, that looked like some sort of overly large remote
control, with buttons on it. His Dad had been an inventor, always spending
time in the garage fiddling with things on his free time, claiming that one day
he was going to make something worth inventing. Not like that combination
coffee maker/alarm clock/TV he'd once patented.
Chris never knew why his Dad even bothered. He had been a pretty
successful plumber, and didn't even have any real college, but that had never
stopped him from trying to invent things, to the amusement of his family.
Chris chuckled to himself, thinking that he'd been pretty lucky that his Dad
didn't have an even more embarrassing hobby, like his friend Tim's Dad,
who collected Elvis memorabilia.
Picking up the small box, he turned it over, seeing that it had slots
for D batteries, but that there weren't any in there. "Wonder what this is"
Chris muttered to himself, "Probably some sort of combo TV remote and
garage door opener" he chuckled, knowing that it was just like his Dad to
make something like that.
As he was looking at the back, Chris noticed something was written
on the box. It said M.I.X. Device. "What the hell?" he muttered again,
putting the thing down. Then he saw the papers under where the box had
been sitting, and he picked them up, seeing that they were his Dad's notes.
He saw a sketch of the box, as well as different drawings. Most of his
Dad's writing he couldn't make out very clearly. But what he did see was
on the front, saying Mobile Identity eXchange Device. MIXD.
Curiously, Chris flipped through the notes, unable to make much out
from them, but the name did sound kind of cool, whatever it meant.
Carefully, he set the box and the notes off to the side, then went back to
work putting the other stuff into the box.
Stacy said goodbye to her friend Cindy, calling out behind her "I'll
see you tomorrow" She wasn't looking forward to getting home, since her
Mom had started nagging a lot more after her Dad had died. She sort of felt
sorry for Chris, being stuck with Mom's nagging, but not too much. After
all, she was 15 and was too old to be stuck around the house all the time.
"Hey Chris" she said, walking into the door, noticing that he looked a
little dusty and tired, "What have you been up to all day" she laughed,
already having a good idea. When Chris told her about having to clean up
the garage, she laughed again, "Tough luck", she said, running upstairs.
Later, after they'd eaten dinner, and were upstairs in their rooms,
Chris walked into Stacy's room, MIX Device in hand, along with all the
notes. "I found this in Dad's workshop" he said, showing her. "I'm not
really sure what it was supposed to do"
Stacy looked at the box, thinking it was stupid. Still, it was one of
the last things her Dad had been working on, so she looked at it. Scanning
through the notes, she was able to make out a little more than Chris could.
Finally, she looked at Chris, saying "It says here that it somehow can turn
people into copies of other people"
"Yeah, right" Chris said sarcastically, then stopped, realizing that it
sounded like something Dad would make. One time, he'd tried making an
invisibility belt, that only gave an electrical shock to anyone wearing it.
"Well, it obviously won't work" Chris said, and Stacy laughed, agreeing
with him.
"Let's try it anyway" she suggested. "See what it really does" With
that, she went to her radio and pulled out the batteries and put them into the
back of the MIXD and made sure they were in there securely. Then she
turned on the power.
Nothing happened, which was no surprise. The power light was lit,
but none of the other lights in front were lit. Then they noticed that next to 5
small unlit lights, it said Pattern 1, Pattern 2.... up to Pattern 5. After
several more minutes reading through the notes, Chris looked up saying, "I
think you have to sort of load it or like, tune it to the person you want to
copy. How stupid" he muttered.
"Here" Stacy said to her brother, "Point it at me, and push this load
button next to pattern 1" Chris did what Stacy said, and heard a faint
buzzing, then the Pattern 1 light lit up.
"Cool" Chris said.
Before they could explore any more, their Mom popped her head in.
"Chris," She said, "X Files is on" Quickly Chris took off out of Stacy's
room, the box all forgotten about. Stacy just left the MIXD in the corner as
she turned her CD player on. Getting bored, she started reading through the
notes again.
"But Mom" Stacy whined, "I'm supposed to go to the mall with
Cindy today"
"I don't care" Snapped Lindsey, "I want you to clean the house
today, while your brother finishes up the garage. I've got to go run some
errands"
"You didn't give me any warning" Stacy snapped, getting angry.
She'd already made plans for the day, and her Mom was making her spend
all day doing chores, and telling her at the last minute. She couldn't believe
this. Her Mom had been doing this more and more lately, and she was
getting pissed.
"If I hear another word" snapped Lindsey, "You're going to be
grounded for a week" With that, she turned around, leaving her furious
daughter glaring at her from behind.
Stacy was furious. She'd been planning on this trip with Cindy all
week. They were going to watch that movie, then meet up with a couple of
guys from school. Now this. Angrily, she picked up the phone to let Cindy
know the bad news.
After vacuuming most of the house, Stacy only got angrier at her
Mom for making her do this, when she had other plans. Finally, she
stopped, and looked in on Chris, seeing that he wasn't happy about it either,
but had burned out most of his frustration the day before. That and he
didn't have any of his plans disrupted by this.
Stacy decided that she needed a break, and went to take a walk,
hoping that it would let her calm down a little. As she went to her room to
pick up her purse, she noticed the MIX Device on the floor, and the notes
she'd read. Smiling, she slipped it into her purse, deciding that this thing
needed to be tested.
Catching the bus down the street, Stacy rode to the other side of
town, getting off at the park. She walked around, and finally sat down on a
bench, watching the children play. As she watched them, she worried for a
moment that her Mom might be back by the time she got home, but she
didn't care. She was still too pissed off, and was to late to make it with her
friends. Staring at a little girl running along the grass, Stacy got an idea.
She didn't think it would work, but if it did.....She smiled, thinking
about that. Carefully, she pulled the box from her purse, making sure that it
still had power. She noticed that the light was still lit next to Pattern 1. She
waited until the little girl ran by, closer, then pushed the load button on
Pattern 2, seeing that the light did come on. Smiling, she put the box into
her purse again, and started on her way home, feeling a lot better.
Chris cringed under his Mom's angry scrutiny. "I told you, I don't
know where Stacy went" Chris said, "I didn't even know she left" His
Mom glared at him for a few more seconds, then seemed to believe him, and
let him get away. He was about to go to his room, but thought that he
wanted to see what happened when Stacy got home.
Finally Stacy got back home, with her Mom angrily waiting for her at
the door. "I told you to stay home and clean the house" Lindsey yelled at
Stacy. "You are grounded for two weeks young lady"
"What the hell do you expect?" Stacy yells back, angrily. Chris stares
at this from the top of the stairs in shock. He'd never seen Stacy yell back at
Mom like this before. Man, she was really pissed. Stacy continued, "You
treat me like I'm a slave, or a prisoner in this house. Well, Fuck YOU.
Cause I ain't your God damn slave. You don't treat me like a human being,
and you don't care that I already have plans. It's just clean this , or clean
that" At this, Stacy started to walk away, past her completely stunned
mother.
"Don't you DARE talk to me like that" their Mom yelled, just as angry
now. She grabbed Stacy roughly by the arm, but Stacy pulled herself back,
obviously hurt by the painful grabbing.
Furious, Stacy reached into her purse, pulling out the box. She
pointed at her Mother, and pushed the Change button next to pattern 2, not
believing it would have any effect, but too angry to do anything else. If she
had a gun at that moment, she probably would have shot it, as angry as she
was.
Chris watched this from the top of the stairs, completely shocked to
see his Mom starting to shrink, her clothes getting larger on her, and slipping
off. He ran down the stairs as fast as he could, seeing that she was at least a
foot shorter than normal and still shrinking. Horrified, he looked up at
Stacy, seeing the look of shock on her own face, as well as one of
satisfaction. He noticed the box in her hands, and was even more shocked
to realize that one of Dad's inventions had worked.
They kept staring at their Mom, watching as she grew younger and
younger, seeing the look of absolute horror and confusion on her face as she
looked down, holding her breasts as they shrunk to nothing. A minute after
the change started, it finished, leaving their Mom looking like a 6 year old
girl. Stacy noticed that she looked exactly like the girl in the park, even to
the dark blonde hair.
"What did you do to me?" Lindsey yelled, in her child's voice,
looking up at her two children. In spite of trying to come off sounding
authorative, she sounded instead like a petulant little girl, which sent Stacy
into a fit of laughter, making their Mom glare up at them even harder.
"It was this" Stacy said proudly, holding the box out, "It was one of
Dad's last inventions. Chris found it yesterday when you made him clean
the garage" Lindsey glared at Chris as if it were all his fault. "Change me
back now" She demanded, reaching for the box.
Stacy laughed, holding the box just too high for her Mom to get to,
enjoying the game of raising it higher every time her now diminutive Mom
jumped for it. "I don't know if I can turn you back" Stacy teased her. "This
was the first time that we tested it, and I'm afraid that I forgot to even record
your old pattern" Stacy smiled at the look of horror on her Mom's face,
knowing from what she'd read in the notes that the patterns of those changed
automatically went into storage. But she didn't want to tell her Mom that.
She figured that she'd leave her Mom like this for a few days, to show her
what it was like to be pushed around.
Chris came up to Stacy, whispering in her ear so that their Mom
couldn't hear, "How long are we going to leave her like that" Stacy smiled,
and told him just a couple days. He didn't like it, but didn't say anything.
He was still amazed that the thing actually worked.
Stacy laughed at her Mom, noticing that her clothes were piled around
her ankles, far too large to fit. Then she remembered something, and ran to
the attic, pulling out a box of clothes she'd outgrown long ago. Smiling, she
brought down some of her old outgrown clothes for her Mom to wear, and
tossed them at her, telling her to get dressed.
Reluctantly, Linsey put them on, feeling humiliated to be dressing in
little girls clothes. Then to add further insult, Stacy insisted on putting her
hair into pony tails, telling her that if she didn't play along, she wouldn't
ever get changed back.
The rest of the day, Stacy took great joy in treating her mother just
like she would a real child, and Chris went along with it, finding it a bit
emberassing, unable to help but think of what would happen when she
changed back.
Stacy cooked them up dinner, then afterwards said she was going to
Cindy's house, and told Chris to baby-sit. Chris resented the way Stacy just
told him what to do and walked out, leaving him to watch their Mom.
They just sat in the living room, uncomfortably staring across at each
other. "Uh, Mom" Chris started, feeling uncomfortable calling a child that,
"I'm sorry this happened" He was sure that Stacy had taken the MIXD with
her, so that he couldn't change their Mom back.
Lindsey just looked up at her son, feeling so small and helpless. She
couldn't believe that they'd done this to her.
Chris heard a knock on the door, and went to answer it, finding that
Mrs. Tillis, their neighbor was standing there. "What can I do for you"
Chris asked her politely.
I just came over to bring this back, she said holding out a Tupperware
container, that Chris guessed his Mom lent her. "Who's this" She said
suddenly, making Chris turn around, seeing his Mom standing there,
looking cute and innocent.
"Oh that's..." Chris tried thinking quickly, "Melody" he said,
remembering that was his Mom's middle name. "She's my cousin, over here
visiting for a couple days"
"Well, its nice to meet you Melody" Mrs. Tillis said politely, then
ignored her handing the dish to Chris and leaving.
"Why didn't you let me tell he who I was?" Snapped Lindsey to
Chris.
"What, and have her think that you were a crazy girl?" Chris replied
smugly. "Come on Melody" he said, watching her wince, "Its your bed time
and little girls need their sleep" With that, he took her upstairs to her room,
and told her to go to bed. Reluctantly she complied, knowing that she had
no choice but to do so until she could find that box and change back.
The next day, Chris went off to school like he did every Monday,
feeling very uncomfortable about leaving Stacy at home watching his Mom.
But Stacy insisted on skipping school to take care of Melody, not trusting
anyone else, and wanting to fully enjoy the experience of bossing her Mom
around. She had laughed when Chris told her about Mrs. Tillis and calling
her their Mom, Melody. She liked it, and made sure that was what she used
to address the new child.
Chris impatiently waited for school to get out so he could hurry
home, and was greatly relieved when he finally got done. Getting home, he
found Melody looking rather unhappy and watching Barney on TV. He saw
his sister on the phone, talking to one of her friends. Finally, Stacy put the
phone down, and told Chris all about how she had played with Melody all
day.
He looked over, feeling sorry for his Mom. She was too pushy
sometimes, but he still loved her. She was just too stressed out after their
Dad's death, and took it out on them sometimes. Chris knew that she didn't
really mean it, but she still pissed him off too often. But even that didn't
deserve this.
As he was about to ask Stacy to change her back, the phone rang, and
he reached over to answer it. "Hello" he said.
"Hello. This is Mr. Patrick, the principal at Stacey's school. Can
you put your mother on?"
"Uh" Chris felt his stomach drop, "She's not here right now"
"Well, tell her that I want a face to face conference with her tomorrow
at One PM, or Stacy is getting suspended. She's skipped too many days of
school lately" With that, the phone went dead.
"Shit" Chris said.
"What's the problem?" Stacy asked.
"The problem is" Chris snared, "Mom has to talk to the principal
tomorrow, or you're out of school" Stacy looked stunned. Chris told her
everything her principal had said on the phone. "Now we've got to change
Mom back" he said, afraid of what she'd do as soon as she changed back.
The next morning, Chris woke up and started to get ready for school.
As he was putting his pants on, his door opened, and he turned, seeing his
Mom's face. "Mom" he said surprised, "Stacy changed you back"
She giggled, "Wrong, bro"
"Stacy?" He asked, shocked. "My God. Mom's going to kill us
when she turns back"
"I don't think so" she said, surprising Chris with how much she
sounded like Mom, "I'll go as Mom, talk my Principal into letting me stay,
and then change back to normal"
"That's a bad idea" Chris said, having a bad feeling.
"Well you don't have a choice little brother" She said as she walked
out.
Going downstairs, Chris saw Stacy, who was dressed up just like his
Mom, pouring a bowl of cereal for Melody, who was looking extremely
unhappy. Damn, Chris couldn't believe it. Stacy looked exactly like Mom,
which left him feeling very uncomfortable. As he was eating his cereal, she
said something, and for a moment, he forgot that it wasn't his Mom.
"You'll have to watch her while I go to the meeting" Stacy told Chris,
who groaned.
"Skipping school is how you got into this mess" Chris grumbled, but
Stacy told him it was all right, then called his school to tell them that he'd be
home sick for the day. That was a relief to him at least. "How are you
going to get to the school?" Chris asked her sarcastically, "Ride the school
bus?"
"No stupid. I'm going to drive, MY car" she said, holding up their
Mom's keys. "I've learned a little about driving, and I think I can handle it"
She said confidently.
Chris shook his head, thinking how bad an idea all this was. He'd be
stuck at home all day, and he'd probably only need to watch Melody for an
hour. Not that she even really needed watching, but Stacy wasn't going to
leave her alone, so Chris was stuck with the job.
Nervously, Chris watched TV, looking over at Melody. Every once
in a while, he'd even forget that she wasn't the child she appeared to be, and
felt embarrassed when he caught himself treating her like one. She seemed to
still be too stunned and in shock to really notice.
Around lunch time, Stacy was beginning to get ready to go, though
the meeting was still a little ways off. The phone rang, and Stacy answered
it. Chris watched her talking on it for a minute, then put it back down. She
walked over to him, nervous expression on her face. "It was the principal
again" she said quietly. "Since I missed school today, now they're
expecting me to show up at the conference too, or I'm out of school" She
looked awful, and sounded pretty nervous.
"Then I guess you'll have to turn back to yourself, and change Mom
back so you can go" Chris said simply.
She shook her head. "Won't work. Mom would kill me rather than
go. I need you to go with me"
"Me?" Chris yelled, jumping up. "No way, they're expecting you
and Mom" then looking at her he continued, "or whatever, to show up. Not
me"
Stacy looked at him for a minute, then walked away. Chris sighed in
relief, then saw his Mom, or Stacy, he reminded himself walk back, the
MIXD in hand. "Shit" he said, as she pointed it at him. He tried to jump out
of the way, but he felt a tingling all through his body. He was too late.
Standing there, he looked at Stacy in shock, seeing that she had a
smug expression on her face. He felt his flesh shifting, and put his hands to
his chest, feeling them push out rapidly. God, his clothes felt
uncomfortable. They got even more so.
Just a minute later, he was looking down at his body in shock, seeing
what was obviously Stacy's body there. "Why the hell did you do that?" he
demanded furiously, surprised to hear Stacy's voice out of his mouth.
Stacy laughed, "You look real pretty" she said, "Think of it as a
temporary promotion" and she laughed some more.
Realizing that he didn't have much choice now but to go along with
Stacy's insane scheme, he let her lead him to her room, where she picked out
some of her clothes and told him to get dressed. "And don't peak" She told
him.
How the hell was he supposed to get dressed, and not look at
himself. Stacy stood right there though to make sure that he didn't take any
liberties, or close looks with her body, and helped him get dressed. When
she put him in front of the mirror, he had to admit that he definitely looked
like Stacy. God that bra was uncomfortable, and he shifted it, not noticing
the amused look on Stacy/His Moms face.
Stacy whispered something in Melody's ear, which made her pale a
little, then led her over to Mrs. Tillis's next door, asking her to watch
Melody for a little while.
Soon afterwards, Chris and Stacy were on their way to Stacy's
school. He felt extremely nervous with Stacy driving, especially when they
almost hit that other car. Finally, they arrived, with Chris's knuckles white
from clenching his knees, and his heart racing.
Getting out of the car, he was reminded again at how odd his body
felt. How big his chest and butt all felt, and how empty his crotch felt. The
hair was especially annoying, wanting to keep getting in his eyes. He
decided that once they changed back to normal, he'd definitely have to get
even with Stacy.
"We're here honey" Stacy said to him, sounding just like their Mom
when she talked to Stacy. Chris clenched his jaw, trying to ignore the way
Stacy was suddenly talking to him as if they were both who they appeared to
be. This was way too embarrassing.
Chris felt humiliated, sitting in the principals office, being chewed
out for things he didn't even do, while Stacy, the real culprit sat right there.
At least Stacy was trying to talk him out of all the trouble since she was the
one that would have to deal with the punishment. Finally, the principal was
satisfied that Stacy wouldn't be skipping school anymore, and they could get
out of there.
"Thanks a lot" Chris snarled at Stacy sarcastically.
"Watch your mouth young lady" She said back, a smile on her face.
She was obviously enjoying this.
Chris was only glad that he wasn't forced to stay at school that day,
like the Principal originally wanted. He shuddered, thinking about what it
would be like, stuck going to school as his sister. Oddly enough, he started
to think that it might be interesting, being several grades higher up, and
being able to look into the girls bathroom. Still, he was thankful that he
didn't have to go there today, that Stacy had talked him out of it. She'd
almost agreed, too, which really made Chris nervous.
The drive back, wasn't quite as bad as the drive to school, but it was
bad enough that Chris was thankful when they finally got back.
"Now, lets change back" Chris said. Stacy shook her head no,
saying she wanted to stay that way for a little while longer. Chris groaned,
knowing that he was going to be stuck that way as well. "Well" he said,
"Since I'm currently Stacy, I guess I'm going to my room" and he ran up to
Stacy's room, trying to ignore the jiggling of his chest.
"No you don't" Stacy screamed up at him, but Chris got into her
room first, and locked the door, ignoring her pounding and yelling outside
it.
He smiled, knowing how much this would piss her off since she
hated him coming into her room when she wasn't there. Just to make sure he
got his point across, he put one of her CD's, making sure she could hear it
through the door. Finally, she gave up and went away. Chris laughed to
himself a little.
Curious, Chris started digging through some of Stacy's drawers, and
found her diary very quickly. Laughing to himself, though it came out more
as a giggle, he started reading through it. "Ooh, hot stuff" he said to himself,
surprised at how detailed some of his sisters descriptions of what she wanted
to do to one of the boys at school was.
Chris was lost in the diary for some time, skimming through the
boring parts and reading the more interesting ones. Finally, he finished with
it, having gained lots of new information to tease Stacy with once they
changed back. He laughed, coming out like a giggle, realizing how much he
had to hold over her now.
As he was reading, he rolled over, laying on his stomach, in a
position that Stacy read in fairly often, not realizing it. Putting the book
down, he noticed the odd feeling of his breasts, and stood up, putting a hand
onto one of them. Unable to fend of his curiosity, he pulled off his shirt,
and bra.
He hadn't had a chance to really look at himself when he was
dressing since Stacy was right there, and wasn't about to let him get a good
look. But now, he had a chance to explore. He felt embarrassed about seeing
his sisters body like this, but he reminded himself that it certainly hadn't
been his choice.
Touching his breasts, he was amazed at them. They felt kind of
funny, and he noticed that his nipples were really dark, and a lot bigger than
his were. He pinched one, feeling it harden a little under his fingers. He
gasped, then pulled his hand back.
He looked at himself in Stacy's mirror, then carefully undressed all
the way, wanting to see first hand what a girls groin looked like. He saw it
had hair around it, and squeezing his legs tightly together, was amazed at
how different it felt, not having his familiar appendage there. He put a hand
between his legs, feeling that it wasn't there. Looking closely, he saw the
little slit, with the folds of skin around it, and the small nub in it.
Gently, he pushed one finger into it, then pulled his finger back out,
seeing that it was damp. It had felt pretty funny to have his finger inside
him, even if it wasn't in very far. Feeling himself turn red, he quickly
dressed up again, then looked into the mirror to make sure that nothing
showed. That there were no signs of his brief exploration. Somehow
though, he felt embarrassed, and as if it were extremely obvious to anyone
that looked.
Finally, he went out the door, and slowly went back down stairs.
Dinner was uncomfortable for Chris, looking across at his Mom, who
was actually playing with her food a bit, and then to Stacy, who had cooked
the meal, and was sitting in Mom's usual spot eating. He really wished they
could change back right away. He was getting tired of these boobs poking
out his front.
After cleaning the table, and putting the dishes into the dishwasher,
Chris went to confront Stacy, to demand that she either change him back, or
let him use the MIXD on himself. After all, he'd been the one to find it, but
Stacy hadn't let him touch it since she found out it actually worked.
With determination, Chris finally got Stacy to agree to change them
back, which was a relief for him. "I was getting tired of being so old
anyway" she said, going to get the MIXD. While Chris was waiting for
Stacy to get the box, he heard a knock on the door, and when opening it,
found Cindy standing there.
"Bummer about yesterday" Cindy said to Chris as she walked in, "I
mean, Randy was at the mall yesterday, and I know how much you like
him" Chris nodded his head, knowing indeed how much Stacy liked him
from her diary.
Holding a CD up for Chris to see, Cindy said "I got this one
yesterday, and thought you'd want to check it out" Reluctantly, Chris
followed Cindy upstairs to Stacy's room, wanting to get rid of Cindy so he
could change back, but not sure how to do so at the moment. As he walked
past Stacy, he saw the look on her face. She obviously wanted to tell Cindy
who she really was, and impress her best friend, but at the same time, knew
that it would probably be best to keep it a secret for now.
For several hours, Cindy hung around, talking to Chris as if her were
Stacy, and he found himself keeping up with the conversation more than he
would have thought. All those conversations he'd overheard Cindy and
Stacy having were a big help, though not as big as Stacy's diary. Man, he
was glad that he read that thing.
When Cindy started talking about boys, Chris felt rather embarrassed,
but using what he'd read, he decided why not play along, and actually
pretend to be Stacy. He thought it was funny, and let himself get into the
role for awhile.
Finally, Cindy said she had to go, and Chris looked over at the clock,
realizing that it was getting late. He waved goodbye as Cindy left, and
looked down at his breasts, remembered that he really wanted to get changed
back as soon as possible.
Going back out, Chris found that Melody had already been put to
sleep, in his room, which left him to sleep in Stacy's room. "Lets change
back now" he suggested to Stacy, who shook her head no.
"Melody's already asleep, so lets wait until morning" Stacy told him.
Chris reluctantly went to Stacy's bed, and stripped his clothes off, reminded
once again how odd this all was. Still trying to ignore the breasts on his
chest, he finally drifted to sleep.
Waking up the next morning left Chris slightly confused when he
reached between his legs to scratch his testicles, but found nothing there.
Suddenly, he woke all the way up, remembering everything that had
happened. He put a hand to his breasts, seeing that they were still there.
Quickly, he dressed himself in some of Stacy's clothes, and checked
himself over in the mirror. As he was stepping out the door, Stacy hurried
up to him, panicked look on her face. "Damn" she said, "You're not going
to believe this. I got a call from Mom's work" She looked Chris in the eyes,
"And they want her to come in immediately"
"Shit" Chris said. "Then you'll have to turn us back immediately"
Stacy shook her head. "No time" I've got to go now, so Mom
doesn't get fired, and I'm supposed to be at school too" Chris didn't like the
sound of where this was going, "You're going to have to go for me" Stacy
pleaded. Chris tried to argue with her, but saw that Stacy was in too much
of a hurry, and ran out the door into their Mom's car, leaving Chris standing
there annoyed.
Looking at the clock, he realized how close it was getting to when
he'd have to catch Stacy's bus, dreading what this day would bring. He
didn't know the first thing about being his sister or what she did in school.
Then remembering Melody, he went and woke her up, explaining
what had just happened. She glared at Chris for a moment, but didn't say
anything. "I'm going to have to drop you off at Mrs. Tillis's again" Chris
explained, "It wouldn't look right to have a little kid at home alone" Melody
reluctantly agreed that it would look pretty bad, but suggested that they
change back instead. "I don't know where Stacy hid the MIXD" he told her
as she dressed.
As Chris waited for the school bus, he found Stacy's school bag,
with all her books in it. Even her binder, which fortunately had her class
schedule taped inside, along with a map of the school, X's marked on the
classrooms she had to go to.
As he got on the bus, noticing the other kids looking at him, Chris
felt himself turning red, suddenly afraid that they'd all know that he was a
guy dressed in girls clothing, and would break out laughing at any moment.
But none of them glanced at him any more than they usually did to Stacy, not
noticing anything odd about him.
Walking to an open seat in the back of the bus, Chris was aware of a
few of the boys staring at him, and realized that they were attracted to him,
turning him even redder. One boy "accidentally" grabbed Chris's butt,
making him jump and the guilty boy laugh. Trying to ignore him, Chris
went back to the open seat, and sat down to a girl that Chris recognized. She
was one of Stacy's friends, who'd come over to the house every now and
then.
Relieved at knowing someone, Chris talked with her the rest of the
way to school.
Sitting down next to Cindy, Chris looked at the food on his plate and
groaned. First he'd had to spend all morning going to Stacy's classes, and
dealing with her friends, now he couldn't even get a decent lunch. Yuck.
Finding the classes hadn't been a big problem, but knowing where
Stacy sat and who everyone was, was a problem. Several of the teachers
and students teased him about having been skipping so much school lately
that he'd probably forgotten where he was even supposed to sit. He just
smiled, and didn't say anything.
Fortunately, Chris recognized a number of Stacy's friends, and the
names of several others that she'd mentioned or he'd read about in her diary.
That helped a lot, but not too much. Mostly, he tried to be quiet and not be
noticed, and bluff when he needed to talk. It seemed to work for the most
part. A few people seemed to notice something odd about him, but didn't
seem to pay much attention to it.
The classes had been horrible. Sitting there, listening to the teachers
talking and not knowing most of what they talked about. Every now and
then, he 'd pick up some of what they meant and understand it. He was glad
that he was in a few advanced classes in his school, since he'd just skipped
several grades.
He was surprised that some of the stuff had been interesting, and he
started paying attention as much as he could, just so he wouldn't get any
more lost than he already was.
Looking at his lunch plate again, he grimaced, taking a bite, and
thinking that he still had half the day to survive. Cindy just laughed at seeing
the look on his face.
Getting off the bus, Chris waved to one of his friends. He shook his
head, reminding himself that she was actually one of Stacy's friends, but
after the way they'd been talking all day, he couldn't help but think of her as
one of his own friends. Smiling, he started walking towards his house, glad
that school was over.
He was tired of having to play Stacy all day, and all the effort he put
into all the classes, just so that he could try to keep up a bit. But he'd
survived it, and that was all that was important.
As he walked to the house, he chuckled to himself, coming out more
like a giggle. He had a real surprise for Stacy. He hadn't originally meant
to do her this favor, but it kind of happened, and he ended up making a date
this coming Friday with Randy, the boy she'd been dreaming about.
Getting in the house, he noticed that Mom, Stacy, he shook his head
reminding himself, still wasn't home from work. Remembering Melody, he
went over to Mrs. Tillis and thanked her, picking up Melody. He laughed
to himself though, walking in and seeing Melody playing dolls on the floor
with Mrs. Tillis's daughters, and actually seeming to enjoy herself.
She actually seemed reluctant to go home, which made Chris a little
nervous, and amused at the same time.
It wasn't much later when Stacy got home, looking fairly tired. "It
was harder than I thought" Stacy muttered when Chris asked her about
Mom's work. "It was pretty cool though being called Lindsey all day, and
having people treat me like an adult"
Stacy set her purse down next to the table, then went into the kitchen,
bringing a cup of coffee back with her. "But you don't drink coffee" Chris
said, a bit surprised.
"I kind of started today, when everyone else around was drinking it,
and I needed to wake up" Stacy looked a little embarrassed, but took a sip
anyway. Chris shook his head, once again thinking how odd this all was.
"Can you start dinner?" Stacy asked him, "I'm too tired"
Chris nodded, and went to the kitchen to see what he could do. He'd
never really cooked before, but had watched. He kept asking Stacy about
things as he started preparing the food. He was really glad that he could at
least ask her his questions about cooking instead of having to figure it all out
himself.
Sitting the finished dinner onto the table, Chris asked "Can we change
back now" Stacy shook her head yes as she bit into a fork full of spaghetti.
He looked over at Melody, noticing the way she was slurping the spaghetti
down. He wasn't sure that he liked the way she was acting. It made him
nervous.
After they finished with dinner and cleanup, Cindy came over,
making Chris groan, knowing that this would delay changing back again.
He decided though, that he was definitely going to change back that night,
and wasn't going to accept any more delays after Cindy was gone. He
looked over, seeing the glare of resentment that Melody was giving Cindy,
obviously annoyed over the delay as well.
Chris was talking to Cindy in the living room, surprised to find
himself actually interest in what she was saying and just as caught up in the
conversation. After a little while, they heard a loud crash, and ran to the next
room, where they saw Melody, holding the MIXD, in front of the closet,
with all the contents of the closet spilled down around her.
Stacy came running in, then stopped, seeing Melody with the box in
hand. Melody said, "I'm changing back now" sounding odd in her childish
voice. She looked down at the controls, obviously unsure how to operate
them. She pushed a button, and suddenly Cindy yelled out.
Before their eyes, Cindy started changing. Chest going flatter, and
her whole body shifting. A minute later, what appeared to be Chris was
standing there, looking absolutely shocked, wearing Cindy's clothes. "Oh
my GOD" Cindy yelled out, staring at the little girl, and at her own chest,
back and forth.
Stacy moved forward to grab the box, but Melody pushed another
button, still pointing the box in Cindy's general direction. Once again,
Cindy started to change, this time, back into her own form. She looked
down at herself obviously relieved as she finished up her changing.
Readjusting her bra, she stared in horror at the little girl with the box.
Melody pointed the box at Stacy, and Cindy grew afraid of what this
little girl was going to do to her best friends Mom. Without thinking, she
grabbed the lamp off the shelf next to her, and flung it at the little girls
hands, at the box.
With a loud crash, the box was knocked out of Melody's hands,
smashing to the floor. Stacy and Chris ran to Melody, Stacy grabbing the
MIXD, while Chris checked to see that Melody wasn't injured. Cindy
watched this wall with startlement.
Then Stacy held the box out, horrified look in her face. The casing
was cracked wide open, and wires and a circuit card hung out, broken in
half. She could only stare at it in horror, then glare at Cindy angrily.
Chris stared in shock at the ruined device, knowing what it meant if
they couldn't fix it. Melody saw it and started crying, sounding like any
other child.
Fiddling with it, Stacy tried getting it to work, but nothing happened.
Even the power light wouldn't come on. "What the hell is going on?" Cindy
asked, seeing all three of these people staring at the broken box in absolute
horror.
After a few minutes, Stacy told her the whole story, then broke out
sobbing, "I don't want to be old" while Cindy only stared at Chris, unable to
believe that this wasn't really Stacy but her little brother instead.
Over the next week, Stacy continued filling in for her Mom at work,
knowing that now it might be her job, permanently. Chris reluctantly went
to school as Stacy, finding it both exciting and challenging, as well as
frightening. It didn't take him long to start catching up on the work material,
and with Cindy and Stacy's aid, he soon knew everything he needed to in
order to fit in.
He was surprised that instead of being angry at him, Cindy actually
seemed interested, and became his best friend for real. He knew he never
would have been able to handle all this without her help.
Melody seemed to snap, and withdraw more into herself, acting more
and more like the child she appeared to be. They didn't know what to do
about her, but realized that her acting like a child for real might be best, so
made sure to keep treating her as such.
They told the neighbors that Melody was Stacy/Lindsey's niece, and
that Chris went off to live with his uncle for awhile, so as to have a positive
male role model.
They tried fixing the MIXD, but nothing they did had any real effect.
The notes didn't do much good, too much of them being unreadable, and not
covering everything. Sadly, they gave up on fixing the MIXD, and tried to
settle into their new lives.
The End
