John awoke the next day. He sprang up out of his bed, looking at himself and realized that he was unbroken; after all, he did try to commit suicide. When he logged onto his computer to check his Email, he noticed that his computer seemed to kick out his new ISP number and replaced it with the old one that he used at his parents home. After he corrected the ISP connections, he tried again, but noticed an error message stating that his modem was not plugged in. So, he checked his phone line and discovered that it simply did not exist. Before John turned around, he heard a knock on the door.
Opening his door, he noticed it was the house lady, Jaycee, and she mentioned to him, "Your phone will be up in three days, is that OK?" "What do you mean, Jaycee?" "Yeah, you did want a phone right?" "Yeah, whatever." "Good, I'll tell him to install it over there." Then she left. That was when it hit him, He was eight months in the past. That explained why it was so hot in the room, no air conditioning. He remembered that it got up to 106 F on his third day of moving in.
