Continuous Story Part 25 by Louder
"Why'd you let her turn mommy into a kid?" Katie whined when they finally got back to Martha's house.
"Because I got taken by surprise. This whole thing is hard to follow. There's more going on than meets the eye. I'm sorry Wendy, I should've gotten you out of there sooner. I never should've put you in this position in the first place!" Veronica told the now 12 year old.
Wendy tugged on her loose shorts. "Did I do bad?" she asked.
"No, you did the best you could. I'll see to it that you are an adult again... somehow" Veronica said.
"Was I really a grownup???" Wendy asked only thinking of herself as a 12 year old due to Kayla's mind control spell.
"I'm afraid you two are mother and daughter" Veronica explained.
"We are???? Goshhhhhhh! Which one of us is the mommy?" Wendy asked.
Katie squeezed her hand "You are"
"Oh.... "she answered almost sounding disappointed.
"Sweetie... be strong. Don't give in to the temptations to remain young. Sudden youth is an intoxification. Being an adult has advantages. You're just in the grips of a spell and your regressed mind isn't fully able to contemplate the situation." Veronica told young Wendy but she didn't seem convinced.
"What's gonna happen to Aunt Martha?" Katie asked.
"I don't know. I wish she wouldn't have stayed there but I had to get you two out. It's obvious Kayla was wise to us. Maybe she's not wise to Martha...yet.... Which brings up another point. Who were the other two boys? Petey and Stevie?"
Wendy didn't know but Katie figured Petey was Jennifer's boyfriend Peter.
"That makes sense. I'm sure that is it" Veronica said "But don't you know any Steves? Does Peter have a friend named Steve... or a brother... or maybe his father?"
"No, his daddy...errrrrr dad is named Keith. He doesn't have any brothers. Keith and Stephanie are his parents and he's an only child" Katie explained.
"Stephanie?" Veronica asked?
"Yeah" Katie said shrugging and then slowly made the connection.... "uh oh! Is it...?"
"I think so...." Veronica said nodding.

Petey and Stevie continued playing basketball but now things were different. Stevie was sniffling and nearly in tears. He couldn't dribble the basketball as well any more and his diminished height made it nearly impossible to shoot over the taller Petey. Petey was playing the role of big brother and continually tormenting the now smaller child. It was payback time as far as Petey was concerned! Stevie just wanted to quit but Petey teased him. Petey toyed with him now. The younger child grew more frustrated.
"What's wrong, squirt... ain't got no game?.... ain't got no game?" Petey chanted over and over. Of course Petey didn't know that Stevie was really his transformed mother. Stevie didn't know it either. Stevie just knew he didn't like basketball at all right now. He saw Billi and Jenni had rejoined them to be cheerleaders and the idea of being a cheerleader crossed his mind. It was almost a sense of deja vu. He didn't have time to think on it though as Petey knocked him to the ground and stole the ball!

Kayla rubbed her stomach and smiled. She wondered what it was going to be like giving birth. What would it feel like when the baby growing inside her kicked? She was so glad that she had found the Dreamkeeper! 9 months was too long though... she would have the dreamkeeper speed things up.
Martha entered the room "Ummm are you finished with me babysitting now, mam?"
"Oh... yes... You can leave, Martha"
"Thank you, mam" Martha said as she turned to leave.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Kayla asked.
"Forgetting? Like... ????" Martha replied.
"Your pay!" Kayla answered.
"Oh yeah..." Martha said and sighed a bit as she felt some relief that Kayla didn't realize that she was back to herself mentally.
Kayla walked toward Martha. Martha held out her hand. "I really must thank you for your -help-" Kayla said as she took Martha's hand. Before Martha knew what was happening Kayla slipped a ring on Martha's finger. Martha felt strange.
"Now the first thing I want to make sure of is that you never take this ring off. You MUST leave it on at all times" Kayla said "Do you understand?"
"...Must leave the ring on..." Martha mumbled.
"And you are loyal to me"
"....loyal to you..." Martha said.
"You must not tell anyone about your loyalty to me"
"...must not tell....."
"You WILL help me and me alone"
"....will help you...."
"And you will tell no one of your loyalty to me?"
"....will tell no one...."
"That's good... in fact it's perfect... Now why don't you leave and find out what that old fool Veronica is up to!" Kayla ordered.
"Yes, mam" Martha dutifully replied and left.

Billi was fast asleep and under the spell that Veronica had woven. Billi's dreams turned to strange old building which she felt compelled to enter.
"Hello Billi!" the Dreamkeeper said as he saw the child enter.
"Hi" she replied uneasily.
"Today was certainly an eye-opening day for you, wasn't it?" the man asked.
Billi felt some awareness return "Hey.... I'm a little girl!" she complained "Fix me back!"
Billi's unconcious mind floated between adult thoughts and child-like thoughts.
"Fix you back? I do remember when you first found me you had some dreams you considered. I'm sure I can help you."
"I don't wanna be a little girl!" Billi shouted.
"Do you want to be a teenager again?"
Billi thought for a moment.... "Nuh uh!" she said "That's not right cuz I'm a boy!"
"Perfect. If you'd just enter this room we can change that"
Billi was ready to be a boy again. "Yay!" she said and gladly entered the room. Billi saw some blocks on the floor and the curiosity drew her closer. There was 4 lone blocks sitting on the floor. She sat down and looked at them. She looked at the letters and tried to spell something. After some thought with her regressed mental capacity she spelled out a word:
B A B Y
"Baby!" she said and giggled at the accomplishment. Billi remembered how he used to fantasize about being a baby... and then something felt strange. The room grew...or seemed to. Billi was shrinking... and turning into a boy again. He felt happy. Something just felt right. His clothing engulfed him. He'd never felt so relaxed or carefree. Not a trouble in the world. In a few moments the door opened and a cooing infant crawled out of it's over-sized clothing and toward the opened door.
The Dreamkeeper laughed.

Wendy and Katie sat on couch and giggled. Martha returned and began answering a barrage of questions from Aunt Veronica. Wendy and Katie didn't care about that... they were enjoying their 'girl-talk'.
"Ummmm when Auntie Veronica gets an antidote or whatever do I hafta change back?" Wendy asked innocently.
"Doncha wanna?"
"Nope... we can be best friends and, like, grow up together and have boyfriends and be sisters and stuff!" Wendy replied.
"Kewllllll.... but Auntie says I'm supposed to be older too... and you're 'sposed to be mommy?"
"Well, if I don't hafta then you don't hafta either!" Wendy declared.
"But what if Auntie says we hafta?"
"Well.... what if we're already sisters?" Wendy asked.
"Huh????" Katie said.
Wendy looked both ways and lowered her voice "Auntie's got some books upstairs.... we could put a spell on each other from the book!"
Katie's eyes widened "Could we?"
"Yeah... I know just the book! C'mon!"
The girls kicked off their shoes and tip-toed quietly upstairs while Martha and Veronica talked.
"This book right here is the one.... "Wendy said as she blew the dust off the cover.

"Where are Katie and Wendy?" Veronica asked suddenly noticing they weren't sitting on the couch any longer.
"I dunno" Martha answered.
"Shhhhh" Veronica said as she heard a noise. It was muffled giggling coming from upstairs. "They're upstairs... what're they up to?"
As they walked up the stairs they heard bouncing start. "It sounds like they are jumping on my bed!?" Martha said.
They opened the door without knocking and saw Katie and Wendy holding hands and jumping in a circle on Martha's bed. They stopped as soon as the door opened and looked at each other as if they had a secret and burst out in a fit of giggling.
"What are you two doing?" Veronica asked
"Nothing, Auntie" Wendy said and tried to restrain a laugh.
Veronica saw the book on the floor "Were you reading this, girls?"
"Ummmm we saw it..." Katie said shrugging.
"That's an old book... it's yucky smelling too!" Wendy added.
"What's up with you two?" Martha asked.
Both girls started giggling again. "It's a seeeeeeeeeecret" they chorused.

The Dreamkeeper sat back in his chair and laughed. "Chaos... utter chaos.... I love it!"
